Some people have lost their jobs, others have been put on temporary furlough, and others have transitioned to working at home. Almost every family is navigating some new work situation, and this affects family life too.

I think overdelivering is the default for many people, both in relationships and in work. In the world of work, it is common to hear the advice that you should “always overdeliver.” This is held out as a great way to impress your current and potential clients, but there is little discussion around how this impacts your energy levels or overall feelings about delivering for your clients. This week’s episode is a little different than usual because I feel that I need to use my platform to share thoughts about what is going on right now. Like most people, I have been watching as protests against George Floyd’s murder, police brutality, and racism have occurred all over the country and the world. I have been examining my own role in perpetuating America’s racist systems and looking within myself. And I have been thinking about how everyone feels like they need to make a statement about where they stand.
